Attention Friends and Fashionistas: SCAM Alert

So I discovered recently that two popular online shopping websites are not as great as they seem, and in fact, are scamming people on the reg.

Ever heard of Sammydress or Rosegal? Looks like these two sites, as well as Diamond Boutique (the clothing store, not diamond store) are a total scam. You may have seen some unrealistically-great deals pop up on your Facebook feed recently, with $10 swimsuit sets or "vintage" pinup dresses, and thought to yourself, "this is too good to be true." Welp, it sorta is.

I personally ordered a few items from Sammydress 3 months ago. I got a cute dress, a scarf, and some earrings all for under $20 including shipping. I was psyched when my package came in... until I opened it. Nothing looked like the picture, the size of the dress was way off, and the "chunky" scarf i ordered was more like a headband. I tried to find their customer service phone number or email and struggled to get ahold of anyone. When I finally did, they took forever to return my email. They notified me that the cost of return shipping is more than the cost of my items, so I was better off keeping them, but they would offer me a 3 percent discount on my next order. LOL, thanks.

I searched their website to see if there was a way to leave a nasty review. All of the reviews from other shoppers were very positive -- unrealistically positive. "I love this dress so much! " and "It fits me perfectly" and "everything was exactly as pictured"... yeah.. I'm sure no one who works at this store wrote the reviews. When I tried to write my own, they told me I needed a username and order number. They never gave me an order number.

I let it go, I only lost $20 and I figured it was due to my own stupidity. But since then, I have seen tons of friends liking and sharing their stuff.. and I realized I need to warn them. Today, Tay shared a really cute vintage dress with me that was posted to the Rosegal Facebook page. Check out some of the comments:

Some customers even complained that their credit card numbers were stolen and fraudulently charged. I did some hardcore creeping on both websites and facebook pages. It looks like Sammydress and Rosegal are using the same models, and sell some of the same clothing. Neither site allows public reviews on their facebook pages. Sammydress even deletes its customer comments on Facebook photos - notice how they have over 700,000 likes and 0 comments on some of their photos. On top of that, Scamadvisor.com gave both of them a "Low Trust Rating" which means "This Site May Not Be Safe for Use." The list goes on and on (one of their models, who I have seen before on Nastygal.com, has a fake twitter account with 2,400 followers that tries to sell Audiobooks... wtf).

In conclusion, if you really feel the need to buy that $10 swimsuit, shop at your own risk. It's very likely that you will receive the wrong items or wrong quantity, the item will not arrive as pictured, or your credit card number will be stolen. And as far as I know, there's not much we can do about it (besides checking for a customer service number/ about us page before you buy, and using paypal for extra protection if available). They are just going to change their name and continue running their crappy business after being reported. Let me know if you have any more info, or hear of any other scam shopping sites. Thanks for reading :)

Bubble Gum Bubble Bar

Taylor here.
LUSH COSMETICS: BUBBLE BARS

One word. YUM! These are seriously the best thing ever invented, especially when you are a huge bath lover. I recently came across this new place in the mall that I work at called Lush Cosmetics! I decided to give it a look and check it out and boy am I glad I did. Lush has all natural beauty products. Anything from facial washes to hair products. But when I walked into the store I went right to the table with over 20 different colorful shapes. It was literally a bar full of bath salts and bubbles. Of course I smelled each one and looked at all the cool shapes and colors until I came across something that caught my eye. It was pink, of course which is my favorite color so obviously I gravitated to it! Anyway I picked it up and it smelled like delicious bubble gum. Naturally, I looked at the price tag & it was $10. I am obviously super cheap so I figured lets ask about this baby. Turns out this is a bubble bar which is basically a bath ball mixed with bubbling components! Normally bath balls are just a one time use & dissolve right away but this was different. You barely need a chunk to get your bath full of bubbles
and smelling great, so this bar will last up to 10 baths which is a lot better than one time use! Am I right?! So I decided to go for it. Spend the $10 and give it a try. Let me tell you it is definitely worth it. Just break off a chunk, run it under the water and watch the bubbles form. Not to mention it turns your tub into a pink bubble heaven. So if you are looking for a relaxing bubble bath ball, you have to try this! It is made from all natural ingredients from the earth and will
make your skin super soft. No harsh chemicals and crazy words no one can pronounce or understand. So if you are an all natural product lover, you really need this. I also bought a facial cleansing bar that I am absolutely loving. That post will be up soon. But for now, enjoy your night & go get yourself a bubble bar asap.

Fabulous Favorites: Body Scrub

When it comes to body exfoliating, texture is key! Here are our favorite body scrubs perfect for any season of the year.

Tay's Fave:
Victoria's Secret Body Polish

Not only does this smell amazing but it is soft in texture while still having a scrubby grit. Made with pink Himalayan sea salt, it gently exfoliates your body leaving it feeling silky & smooth!

This is a discontinued product, however it does come back for the Victoria's Secret semi annual sale! Price on the jar is $18 but during the sale I got it for $6! It also lasts for months! I am just now at the end of my current jar after about 6 months of regular use

Meg's Fave:
French Lavender & Honey Body
Scrub by Bath & Body

I'm not usually a huge fan of lavender, but the honey smell of this scrub totally balances it out. If you have dry skin, this scrub is perfect because it is full of moisturizing oils: Sunflower Seed oil, Avocado oil, Sweet Almond oil, Safflower Seed oil, Apricot oil, and more. After using this scrub in the shower, I hardly need to use a body moisturizer.

At full price, this scrub is $16.50, but Bath & Body works always has buy 3 get 3 deals on their signature collection. You can always find a coupon to sweeten the deal!

If you are looking for something with a little more grit, the Bath & Body scrub is for you. If you are looking for something with a smoother finish, the Victoria's Secret scrub is for you.

Hope you enjoyed our first post on Fabulous Favorites! Stay tuned for weekly updates.
