I always start off with a primer. Any primer will suffice but I love my VS Pro primer from Victoria's Secret which is unfortunately discontinued. If you are like me, you'll splurge a little for the best make up. If you don't mind spending a little more Benefit has a really good Porefessional Primer. It runs about $28 but goes on smooth as butter. If you are looking for a cheaper one E.L.F has a good one for under $5 that will do the job!
Next comes tinted moisturizer. My favorite! Some people don't like it because it doesn't cake your face and cover up every imperfection but I love a light finish. On the other hand if you don't have the clearest skin a foundation might work better for you. I used a combo of both. Tinted moisturizer for me evens out my skin while still moisturizing and protecting it from the sun. Ulta has a great tinted moisturizer for $12.50 that comes in most shades and even has a little shimmer.
Here comes the fun. A little bronzer, blush & highlight, to brighten up that beautiful face! I love Sephora's trio with all 3 in one palette. It runs about $25 but lasts forever. A little goes a long way. But once again E.L.F has great products for under $5 that I recommend any day!
Brows! I will show a tutorial on how I personally do my brows another time, but I use the Brow Envy kit from Too Faced. It is $34 but it's another one of those things that will last you forever because a little bit goes a long way. I also bought an E.L.F angled brush for $3 to fill them with!
Eyeliner fun! Okay so I have to rave about this eye liner because it is by far the best I have ever used. Lancome's Artliner is perfection. It glides right on the lid. It costs $28 on its own but you will fall in love after one swipe! Other favs that are on the cheaper side are once again E.L.F's liquid liner- $3 and Sephora's liquid liner which I believe is $12.
I wanted to do a look using some of my cheaper products to show that you don't have to spend tons of money to achieve a great makeup look! E.L.F is my go to for cheaper brushes and products. This eye shadow palette was $5 and is perfect for creating this smokey eye look that I was going for. I also used a bit of purple from a little Revlon palette I had & the white for a brow highlight.
Here is my finished look. Hope you enjoyed.
